Employers'
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How
do I collect premium from my employees who have enrolled
in the DentalNOW! plan?
A:
You should payroll-deduct premium for each enrolled
employee.
Q: Do
I deduct the premium through payroll deduction when
an employee is on vacation?
A:
Yes. You should continue to deduct premiums the same
way as if the employee is at work.
Q: How
do I pay premium for my enrollees?
A:
You will be billed monthly. Make your check payable
to the DentalNOW! Administrator.
Q: Do
I have to pay as billed?
A:
Yes. Any additions or deletions must be made on the
DentalNOW! Change Form, and sent along with your
next premium payment. Those changes will be reflected
on your next bill.
Q: What
happens when I get a new employee?
A:
As part of your new employee orientation process, you
should provide the enrollment materials to that new
employee for his/her decision. They may enroll within
31 days from their becoming eligible, based on your
company’s benefit eligibility waiting period. You would
add the employee to the DentalNOW! Change Form and send
it along with the new employee’s enrollment form with
your next premium payment. Please make a copy of the
enrollment form for your records.
Q: What
happens when an employee leaves the company?
A:
You should add the employee to the DentalNOW! Change
Form and send it with your next premium payment.
Q: Can
I have an annual open enrollment?
A:
If you have a Section 125 Plan, you can decide which
month will be designated for an annual open enrollment.
If you do not have a Section 125 Plan, there is no annual
open enrollment.
Q: When
will rates be reviewed?
A:
Rates are reviewed every year and, if a change is necessary,
will be modified at the plan’s anniversary date. You
will be notified in advance of any rate change to your
plan, so you can adjust the payroll deduction amount.
Q: Which
insurer underwrites the DentalNOW! plans?
A:
The DentalNOW! plans are underwritten by BCS Insurance
Company, Chicago, Illinois. BCS is rated “A-” (excellent)
by A.M. Best Company.
