Producers' Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is the DentalNOW! program voluntary?

A: Yes, the program is 100% voluntary. Your employer clients are not required to contribute at all to the cost of the DentalNOW! program.

Q: How do my employer clients offer DentalNOW! to their employees?

A: All your employer clients have to do is pick the plan (with your guidance) that is right for their employees and follow a few easy steps to enroll their employees. You can also be involved in the enrollment process if you’d like.

The process is simple. Once your employer client’s employees are enrolled, all the employer needs to do is payroll deduct premium and send the DentalNOW! Administrator any changes to enrollment.

Q: Which employees are eligible to enroll in the DentalNOW! plans?

A: All categories of employees, including part-time, hourly workers, are eligible for coverage assuming they are actively employed. DentalNOW! has a variety of plans available that cater to the needs of all of the employees of your employer clients.

Q: Are there any excluded industries for the DentalNOW! plans?

A: Yes. Law firms, dentist and physician offices, teachers (schools and colleges) and insurance companies cannot be covered under DentalNOW!

Q: Are there minimum participation requirements?

A: Yes, but they are modest. 100% participation is needed for employers with 5-9 eligible employees. The greater of 10 employees or 20% participation is needed for employers with 10 or more eligible employees. See the Producer’s Guide for more details.

Q: What will my client receive after the group is enrolled?

A: Your client will receive a DentalNOW! Welcome Kit which will include the ID cards for distribution to covered employees, the Group Master Policy, Certificate of Insurance, two Group Applications (one of which must be signed and returned), claim forms and other administrative forms.

Q: Which insurer underwrites the DentalNOW! plans?

A: The DentalNOW! plans are underwritten by BCS Insurance Company, Chicago, Illinois. BCS is rated “A-” (excellent) by A.M. Best Company.

Q: Do I have to be appointed with BCS to sell a DentalNOW! case?

A: When you sell your first DentalNOW! case, your appointment with BCS Insurance Company will be handled at that time. The appointment form is included with your plan materials. The form must be sent with your first case submission. Please remember to include a copy of your license with your appointment form.

Q: When will I receive my first commission payment?

A: You will receive your first commission payment within one month after the group’s application is processed, provided you are appointed with BCS or, if it is your first case, you have submitted the required appointment form and a copy of your license.

Q: What do I have to do to get my client’s coverage renewed?

A: The DentalNOW! Administrator will notify your client of any rate change that is scheduled to go into effect at the policy anniversary date. You, as the agent, will be notified prior to that. It’s up to you whether or not you review the rate changes with your client, although we strongly encourage you to do so. The DentalNOW! Administrator may also request an updated census from your employer client to verify that the employer continues to meet
the participation requirements.
